I should have started listening to these earlier...... I have no excuse....

Forgive me, Father Sydney....
For I have done utter wrong....
I have neglected these pieces of brilliance until this moment. I do not know why... They have always been made aware to me... But I, foolishly.... ignored them. It escapes me how I could have possibly done this... But today, I will rectify this long standing dereliction of duty. And I give no figs that this isn't Big Finish.... THIS DESERVES TO BE TALKED ABOUT!!!!

DOCTOR WHO THE MISSING ADVENTURES REVIEW
RED SNOW, FREEDOM OF THE DALEKS and HER HOUSE
By Jack Ryan

BEWARE: THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

Before we begin, allow me to introduce you to a nice, lovely chap called Christopher Thomson.

Hello, Chris! :D

If you haven't heard of him yet, then A) what the hell are you doing here, or B) you must be new, so allow me to explain. Chris is a Doctor Who fan. But he is that, and much more. I have previously called this man a god amongst fans for what he does. He cares about the show to know when it is not doing as well as it should but will still support it so that it can prove us wrong and bring us something brilliant. He is, also an avid Big Finish fan (or at least I'm getting that impression) and a cracking actor and impressionist. How cracking? HE IS THE ONLY MAN I KNOW WHO CAN PULL OFF MATT SMITH'S VOICE! THAT..... IS TALENT! And he is also a brilliant writer. As is shown by these lovely things. And when I say lovely..... THESE THINGS ARE BLOODY GORGEOUS!!!!

The Doctor. The infamous Time-Lord of legend. Traveller of space and time, righting wrongs, defeating tyrants and invaders, and  generally being a good man. That is very clear in his second incarnation, the cosmic hobo, travelling the universe with Scottish Highlander, Jamie McCrimmon and Victorian heiress, Victoria Waterfield. But they're not here now. The Doctor is alone. And things are not looking good... From an Ice Warrior invasion of London, to a battle of Daleks versus Daleks, and an seemingly empty house with more inhabitants than it's letting on, it will be a while before the Doctor returns to his friends. But how much will he have changed?

There's an easy way to find out if you are doing something right when you're doing a fan made production, and that is if your thing gets mistaken for something official. These not only get mistaken for something official, they most time do it even BETTER than the official stuff. THAT'S HOW GOOD THIS IS! Between the two of them, Chris Thomson and Benji 'BUCK UP' Clifford (he gets it) have crafted three brilliant pieces that not only tell brilliant and tense stories, but also feel like how the show felt in the era of Patrick Troughton, whilst being short and compact enough to fit a modern episode run-time. THAT is not an easy . But these two brilliant chaps managed it!

Normally, I'd go on about the rather famous cast in this area, along with some examples of where you might have heard or seen them before. That ain't gonna happen here. There are no big major names on this unless you regularly frequent the land of FiveWhoFans, in which case the names Christel Dee, Billy Tracey, Daniel Sherratt and Olivia Douglas should sound familiar. And that's only scratching the surface of the cast, which includes CBBC presenter and DWM TimeTeam member Chris Johnson, part time BF voice actor Thomas Rees-Kaye, and BF sound designer and podcast co-host Benji Clifford (who, if he isn't careful, could put his co-host out of his regular job, he's that good at monster voices). All are, quite frankly amazing but of course, the highlight is Thomson himself, as Patrick Troughton's Second Doctor. AND IT IS UNCANNY! Thompson's talents here are so good, they eclipse those of Frazier Hines, and he is VERY good at doing a Pat Troughton impression. But Thomson's take is amazing not just in its likeness but his delivery. You forget you're listening to an impressionist and begin to think you're actually listening to Troughton. And I can say that listening to Troughton, even an impression, is never a bore.

As for sound design, this will show you precisely how Benji got his job at Big Finish. The music and sound design for these three tales is just gobsmackingly brilliant. Everything sounds like it should, and everything sounds brilliant! AND MY STARS, THE MUSIC!!! THE MUSIC IS FREAKING DIVINE!!! Need I remind people that this was done JUST BECAUSE THEY COULD?! They're not getting a single penny for these and yet they've been crafted with such dedication and diligence than sometimes most high-end productions. Quite simply, these audios are goddamn freaking awesome, of a quality that could even rival Big Finish.... AND ARE FREAKING FREE!!!!!! FREE!!!! THEY DON'T COST A SINGLE CENT!!!!

Okay, calm now.....

VERDICT: 10/10 Did I mention these are FREE?!?!?!?!?!?! GO LISTEN TO THEM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8D

Also, I'm aware I haven't done Patient Menace Part 1. I'll do the whole of that and the last one Chris has planned when all the parts are released.
